toque #2 - check (almost)

I finished Kevin's toque on the Knifty Knitter. It may not be too big after all. I guess I'll know for sure when Kevin tries it on. Those little scraps of wool is all that is left of the skein. Not enough to make a pom-pom (which Kevin just may be secretly thankful for).Unfortunately, the way these toques are finished is by cinching all the stitches together like a drawstring. It's impossible to close up the hole that is left. So I may have to make a pom-pom after all to cover it up.My Mary Maxim order arrived. I love this boa yarn (apparantly, Xena loves it too .... the unravelled ball in this picture is her handiwork). It was on sale for a super good price, so I bought a bunch. Now I just have to figure out what to make with it.The crochet cotton also arrived .... I finally made a start on those curtain tie-backs I've been itching to get at. My GOD I've gotten blind in my old age! The hook and stitches are very tiny. I don't remember them being that tiny when I used to do this years ago. I may have to use the lighted magnifier Art gave me for doing cross-stitch.

It's going to be hard to straighten out that skein that Xena had fun with (been there)Check the Bernat website - mostly stoles, scarves or hats. I'm going use some of mine for trim on a purse though - or try trimming the edge of a thow with it.
Keep us posted on your curtain tie-backs
